DUALENE AIC ANS W

DESCRIPTION AND FIELDS OF APPLICATION

Two-component, water-based acrylate-isocyanate (polyurethane) binder protectant for anti-graffiti protection of masonry and stone substrates, even with paints and finishing coatings applied. The product superficially forms a film that gives a satin/matte appearance to the treated substrate.

MAIN FEATURES

Main characteristic is to hinder the adhesion of paint products and prevent their absorption by the substrate, facilitating their removal. The polymer used, non-yellowing, elastic, with high adhesion capacity, increases the weather resistance of the substrate or the product applied, in case it is painted.

Due to its impermeability, the product is not suitable in the treatment of wetted substrates or those that can absorb water by capillarity.

APPLICATION DATA

The substrate must be clean, free of substances that hinder the adhesion of the product (waxes, silicones, oily traces), and detaching parts. The limited presence of moisture is not an obstacle to the application of the product; on the other hand, it cannot be used in the treatment of substrates with counterthrusting water, the presence of which can cause the detachment of the protective product.

The product is supplied ready to use dosed in the two components, base product and hardener, to be mixed evenly, preferably mechanically, before use. Application can be done by brush, roller or spray; in this case, operate with 0.9-1.2 mm nozzles and pressures not exceeding 1.5-2 bar, to avoid nebulization of the product.

To fully manifest its characteristics, the anti-graffiti protector must form a continuous surface layer. Porous, rough substrates with thick finishes in place should be preliminarily treated with DUALENE AIC TRA W (see technical data sheet), used as a filler primer; when completely dry, proceed with the application of the antiscritch product, which can then stop on the surface. Wanting instead to use only the antiscritta product, apply the second coat over the first one that is not completely cross-linked (slight surface tackiness), otherwise adhesion defects may occur.

Regardless of the chosen layering (first primer coat, only antiscritch product), always apply at least 2 coats.

Carry out the removal of graffiti from surfaces close to their creation, using rags or brushes, working on small successive portions and completing the cleaning by washing with water under pressure. In the case of markers use denatured alcohol. For spray cans use the thickened solvent mixture MONOPOL SVR (see technical data sheet); alternatively use fast evaporating solvents (nitro, mek), to avoid removal, even partial removal of the protective, with this methodology operate avoiding making the solvent drip on the underlying support.

The protective film withstands multiple washes; replacement of the product must be done when, thinning in thickness, the cortical part of the support is exposed.

YIELD

The effective anti-graffiti capacity can fully manifest itself when the protector superficially coats the substrate; the yield, therefore, varies greatly depending on its roughness. Approximately 0.1-0.2 L/m2 is consumed per layer applied or as a final coat on substrates previously treated with DUALENE AIC TRA W as a primer.
