DESCRIPTION AND FIELDS OF APPLICATION

Two-component, solvent-based, acrylate – aliphatic isocyanate (polyurethane) varnish for the protection of cementitious floors and surfaces in general, even painted and outdoor; used on rough anti-slip finishes (PAV series), it facilitates cleaning. The product is used for the waterproofing treatment of masonry and stone supports and of water-based paints on horizontal surfaces (parapets of concrete sills) where the action of beating water is greater. Available in glossy (80 gloss) and matt (10 gloss) versions.

MAIN FEATURES

The product is used as a protective varnish for floors, providing resistance to abrasion by pedestrians and rubber-tired vehicles and preventing the penetration of oil and water, giving good chemical resistance to the treated floor. It is characterised by long-lasting elasticity, no yellowing or chalking, even after prolonged outdoor exposure.

APPLICATION DATA

The substrate must be clean, free of substances that impede the penetration of the product (waxes, silicones, oily traces), parts that are detaching and very important it must be dry; the presence of humidity in the flooring, not correctly treated, can cause the paint to detach. New concrete substrates must be seasoned for at least 40 days. Base product and hardener must be mixed thoroughly for a few minutes, if possible mechanically.

The paint is supplied in concentrated form. Before use, it must be diluted with thinner for polyurethanes up to 50% by volume, assessing the dilution according to the type of substrate and its conditions. Depending on the amount of thinner added, the product may no longer comply with Directive 2004/42/EC on VOC values. The application can be made by brush, roller or spray, even airless, foreseeing the application of at least two coats of product, the second one on the previous one completely dry.

To clean tools use thinner (nitro, polyurethane, synthetic), immediately after use. Operate at temperatures between 15-30°C, even of the substrate (use below 10°C prevents the catalysis reaction), avoiding application in direct sunlight and on hot surfaces.

YIELD

The yield varies depending on the absorption and roughness of the substrate. On average, 8 – 10 m2/L. of thinned product is applied per coat, the consumption of concentrated product depends on the thinning percentage; at 50% the consumption is approx. 0.07 m2/L of concentrated product, per coat.
