DESCRIPTION AND FIELDS OF APPLICATION

Water based acrylic latex to prepare of mortars with hydraulic binders, cement and hydraulic lime. The mortars obtained are characterized by high adhesive properties, making them suitable for many uses on a variety of substrates: pre-painted sheet metal, concrete and masonry surfaces in general, including painted ones, casting joints, restoration of flooring, of reinforced concrete with exposed reinforcing bars, fixing and coating of polystyrene panels, polyurethane foam, rock wool, and adhesive injections of plaster detached from masonry.

In general, the product finds use in all those operations where normal hydraulic binder mixes are unsuitable due to poor adhesion and the occurrence of shrinkage.

MAIN FEATURES

The use of latex as a substitute of water reduces shrinkage cracking in mortars (with correct evaluation of the aggregate grain size curve correlated to the thickness of application), due to the reduction of the water/hydraulic binder ratio. In the mortars the latex increases adhesive, even at low thicknesses, mechanical (compressive strength, tensile elasticity) and abrasion properties.

APPLICATION DATA

Substrates to be treated must be clean, without loose and/or detaching parts; the presence of slight moisture does not affect use; do not use in the presence of exuded water. Given the wide fields of use, please refer to the appropriate Information Sheet where various mixing examples are given along with their consumption.

The product is mainly used without dilution, to fully manifest its characteristics; however, it is dilutable with water, the increase in dilution is accompanied by the decrease in performance of the mortars obtained.

The mixing of the various components can be performed manually for small quantities; in all other cases perform it mechanically, with a drill equipped with a special helical impeller or for large quantities in a concrete mixer. To obtain homogeneous mixtures free of lumps, mix for a few minutes without initially exceeding the quantity of latex, adjusting with subsequent additions the final fluidity of the mortar according to the use. The workability time varies according to climatic conditions and the mass of product prepared, under normal conditions it is approx. 3 h; do not use residual mix in the setting phase, not even with further addition of latex or water.

Minimum overlapping times between layers of mix depend on the thicknesses and type of mortar.

To be able to over-apply additional materials, e.g., finishing products, wait min. 1 gg/mm thickness from complete drying and in any case not earlier than 48-72 h. Operate at temperatures between 5-35C. It is very important especially in the hot season and operating on absorbent surfaces, carry out the humidification of the substrate before laying or alternatively treat preliminarily with special insulation; in particular conditions of high temperature and low humidity, especially for smoothing performed at low thickness. Use water immediately after use to clean the equipment.

The yield varies according to the type of mixture to be made; please refer to the specific Information Sheet where examples of use are given.
