MONOPOL ACR TRA W

DESCRIPTION AND FIELDS OF APPLICATION

One-component water-based varnish, based on acrylic emulsion, for the protection of cement floors. The product is suitable as a protective coating for masonry surfaces, even painted ones, to which washability is to be imparted. The product can also be used outdoor.

MAIN FEATURES

Non-yellowing, resistant to abrasion and saponification, suitable for the protection of concrete surfaces. The use of hard acrylic copolymers, requires formulation with appropriate coalescents to allow filming of the resin; on absorbent substrates it is necessary to isolate them preliminarily to avoid partial absorption of coalescents, resulting in the surface formation of a decohesive layer of non-filmed polymer.

APPLICATION DATA

The substrate must be clean, free of substances that hinder product adhesion (waxes, silicones, oily traces), compact and very important dry. The presence of counterthrust water in the substrate can cause the varnish to detach. Absorbent substrates must be preliminarily insulated by appropriate primer, such as MONOPOL FIX (see data sheet), failure to insulate may compromise the formation of the varnish film.

New cementitious substrates must be cured for a minimum of 40 days. The product is used in the supplied condition without any dilution. Application on primer-treated substrates should be done when the insulation is completely dried. Usually two coats are applied, waiting for the previous one to dry. Application can be done by brush, roller or spray. Operate at temperatures between 15-30°C (including of the substrate), and at R.H. < 80%, avoiding direct sun exposure. To clean tools use water immediately after use.

YIELD

The yield varies depending on the absorption and roughness of the substrate. On average, each coat of varnish treats 8 – 10 m2/L.
