DESCRIPTION AND FIELDS OF APPLICATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two-component, solvent-based enamel with an acrylate-isocyanate resin (polyurethane) base, for the protection of floors, including outdoor, subject to pedestrian traffic and rubber-tired vehicles. The product is not suitable for the treatment of floors subject to counter-pressure water and, in general, of damp substrates without specfic treatment. The product is recommended for the protection of masonry surfaces where high washability is required, such as in the food industry (in compliance with EC Reg. 852).<\/p>\n

MAIN FEATURES<\/strong><\/p>\n

Excellent hiding power, high strength, no yellowing, and adhesive properties allow it to be applied to a variety of surfaces. The protective film prevents oil and water from penetrating into the flooring, giving good chemical resistance to the treated substrate.<\/p>\n

APPLICATION DATA<\/strong><\/p>\n

The substrate must be clean, free of substances that impede the adhesion of the product (waxes, silicones, oily traces), compact and very important dry. The presence of water in the flooring, if not properly treated, may cause the coating to detach. When treating surfaces that have already been painted, provided that the old coating is well anchored to the substrate, it is necessary to first carry out a sampling to check adhesion on the previous product. New cementitious substrates must be seasoned for at least 40 days. Absorbent substrates must first be treated with DUALENE EPX FTR primer (see technical data sheet). Very smooth substrates or those with deeply-absorbed oily substances must be roughened by means of suitable mechanical intervention (shot-peening, milling, sanding). Ceramic substrates must be treated by acid etching with MONOPOL PL 06 and DUALENE EPX FL. Base product and hardener must be mixed thoroughly before use, if possible by mechanical means. The product can be applied without dilution. If necessary, adjust the flow with max. 5% by volume of polyurethane thinner. Do not over-thin the product in order not to reduce the final thickness and with it the performance. The application is carried out by roller, brush, spray and airless. When the primer has dried, preferably within 24 hours, apply the first coat. Regardless of the application system used, wait for it to dry completely before applying the next coat. The adhesive properties of the product allow the final coat to be applied even a few days after the previous one has been applied. To clean tools use nitro thinner or polyurethane thinner immediately after use. Operate at temperatures between 10-30\u00b0C (use below 10\u00b0C prevents the catalysis reaction), even of the substrate and with R.H. < 80%. For the final coat, use products from a single batch to avoid slight colour differences.<\/p>\n

YIELD<\/strong><\/p>\n

The yield depends on the roughness and absorption of the substrate. The minimum thickness of dry film to be applied per coat in order to obtain good protection must be 50 micron. On average this is obtained by treating about 10 m2<\/sup>\/L of product. The finished cycle provides for a total dry film thickness of 100 microns, obtained by applying two coats (total consumption 5 m2<\/sup>\/L).<\/p>\n
