MONOPOL PT 05

DESCRIPTION AND FIELDS OF APPLICATION

One-component, polymer-free mineral water-repellent consolidating protectant based on ethyl esters of silicic acid and polysiloxanes for the treatment of stone, concrete, klinker, terracotta and stoneware substrates. Suitable for vertical surfaces and flooring

MAIN CHARACTERISTICS

With high penetration, it originates a mineral binder with no film-forming effects, stable to UV rays and weathering. It allows good permeability to any moisture that may be present in the consolidated substrate and does not normally change its color. It allows waterproofing cracked joints and substrates (max. size of lesions < 1 mm), therefore also indicated in the treatment of terraces in which it prevents damage from water infiltration.

PRELIMINARY TESTS

Before use, carry out preliminary tests on samples of the substrate to be treated in order to determine the amount of product needed to saturate the porosity and evaluate any color toning.

APPLICATION DATA

The product is supplied ready to use. The substrate to be treated should not be directly exposed to sunlight during application, be at a temperature between 10-25C, be clean and dry.

Application is done by cloth, brush; a roller can be used on absorbent types of substrates, avoiding leaving surface residues of product.

Spread evenly over the surface to be treated, insisting on cracks, joints, etc.

On absorbent substrates (cementitious screed, terracotta, porous stones):

Spread one coat of product and when completely dry (8-10 h), repeat the treatment.

On compact substrates (klinker, stoneware, compact stones):

spread the product and after a few minutes go over the surface again to remove the unabsorbed product by means of cloth, paper towel, sponge.

Regardless of the nature of the treated substrate, avoid leaving excess unabsorbed product.

Protect treated surfaces from driving rain for 24 h; wait at least 10-12 h before walking on horizontal surfaces.

Clean tools with thinner (nitro, synthetic, white spirit), immediately after use.

YIELD

Yield varies depending on the absorption of the substrate. Generally with 1 coat of product 20-25 m2/L is treated for compact substrates, 10-12 m2/L with porous substrates. Optimal consumption is identified through preliminary tests.
